The Youth Theater represents an important cultural institution, located in the center of the city of Piatra Neamț, in the immediate vicinity of its old center. The building in which the theater has been operating for more than 60 years was built between 1929 – 1947, but began to function as a theater only in 1959. Known in the theater world during the period before 1989 as "the phenomenon of Piatra Neamț”, the Piatra Neamț Youth Theater functioned as a creative laboratory for generations of artists who collaborated with the institution throughout the time.
