SECU MONASTERY

Secu Monastery is one of the oldest Orthodox monasteries in Neamț County. Located between the German settlements Vânători and Pipirig, the monastery was built in 1602, by the great governor Nestor Ureche, the father of the great chronicler Grigore Ureche, on the site of a small shrine, then called "the Shrine of Zosima", a settlement founded in 1564.
